Engine Warranty

  1. All engines are warranted to be in good working order, against excessive use of oil (1 qt to 700 miles), excessive smoking, cracked heads or cylinder block, broken cam or crank shaft unless otherwise stated on receipt.
  2. Heat tabs are installed on every engine block and head. If the tab has been removed, tampered with in any way or the center is melted out of any one tab the warranty is null and void. No exceptions.
  3. The coolant system must be completely flushed before the engine is run.
  4. Any and all external oil coolers MUST be REPLACED before the engine is run.
  5. All external seals and gaskets must be replaced with new. This covers and is not limited to front and rear mains, cam, valve cover and oil pan. Timing chain/belt, gears and timing components, water pump and gasket, thermostat and gasket.
  6. A new oil filter and oil must be installed.
  7. Removal of any internal components such as crank, cam, rockers or any other working part of the block and head will void the warranty.
  8. Addition of any aftermarket parts that take the engine out of OEM specs, such as a performance intake, NOS, high volume or pressure oil pumps, or any other item that was not installed factory will void this warranty.
  9. Oil and filter will be replaced by vehicle owner at the manufactures recommended schedule and will keep a detailed log that they can provide at the time of the claim.
  10. All accessories are exempt from this warranty; this includes the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, throttle body, accessory mounts, alternator, a/c compressor, starter, or any other part that is not inside the head or block. These parts are left on for convenience only.

General Warranty Terms:

  1. All Star Auto Salvage warranties the engine, transmission, or axle assembly for a standard
    period of  30 days  from the date of purchase. The general warranty does not cover labor,
    parts, loss of pay, or any other claims for consequential damage or loss. (Please refer to item line 10 on the reverse side of your receipt).
  2. All Star Auto Salvage offers, at an extra charge, an extended labor warranty plan for a period of 12 month or 12,000 miles whichever comes first at rates set forth below:
    1. $.01 - $499.....................$150
    2. $500 - $999......................30% of cost less core charge
    3. $1000 - $1499...................20% of cost less core charge
    4. $1500 - $1999...................15% of cost less core charge
    5. $2000 and above..............$375
  3. We reserves the right to request documentation on the install as proof that all install requirements are met. This includes and is not limited to receipts, visual inspection or any other means we feel necessary to prove that all preinstall requirements have been met.
  4. A certified technician must install the warranted part. If the item is not installed by a certified technician or one authorized by All Star Auto Salvage the warranty is null and void. No refund will be issued for any reason once the warranty is voided.
  5. Any work performed before the written authorization of All Star Auto Salvage will not be covered in any way. We reserve the right to authorize replacement of individual parts or the entire unit after discussing the issue over with the installing technician. All Star Auto Salvage reserves the right to have our own technicians R & I the part. All Star Auto Salvage will provide all transportation services for the vehicle at our expense.
  6. We will do everything we can to replace the unit at cost, not including labor costs. If a reasonable unit cannot be found the customer has the option to pay the difference for the replacement or take a labor payoff and purchase another unit from another vendor. All Star Auto Salvage will not pay for a more expensive unit if they cannot find another at the same price and mileage
  7. All Star Auto Salvage pays a maximum fee of $50 per hour as designated by the Mitchell Flat Rate Guide. There is a cap of $500 total on any labor claim. The purchaser waves any and all claims for any parts purchased to install the unit under this warranty.
  8. All claims for this warranty must be made within the specified time period or the claim will be denied. There are no grace periods on this warranty.
  9. The warranty starts on the date of purchase not on the date of install. Your receipt states the date and time of purchase and that is what All Star Auto Salvage uses for the time period give. Your warranty date will only be extended beyond that date only if it is stated on both this form and the original invoice. No copies will be accepted.
  10. If you do not have the original paperwork on your claim your warranty becomes null and void. There are no exceptions on this.
  11. This warranty is not transferable and becomes void upon sale of the vehicle.
  12. Warranty is void upon modifications for racing purposes.
  13. Warranty does not cover any leaks.
  14. Warranty does not cover installation into a vehicle that the part was not designed to fit per our parts interchange.
